I wish this was betterrrrrr… the stakes and tension was supposed to be so high but it just wasn’t, the fight passed so quickly and the whole “trust with the queen” never made sense in the first place and never even really mattered …. utterly maddening. Cute series though, it won’t stay with me but I did enjoy my time with it.

It was just a fun little series. I am so used to reading multiples povs that it throw me a little throughout the whole series. But it was still just as fun. I think the author really could expand it and write more pages. As the average amount of pages was like 180?
This review sort of covers the whole series rather than each book, as I read all of them after the series had been completed.
Oh I loved this series, the characters were probably my favourite. They all complimented each other so well, that I can’t even pick a favourite from the four. Arlow has a great sense of humour, and is a strong female heroine but with flaws that are relatable to the reader. I struggled to put the series down! I would have liked to have more intimacy and ‘harem time’ with Arlow and her mates. The series had a lot going on which was great, it wasn’t just a romance so that made it more interesting to follow! The last book seemed to be lacking a little, and after the build up seemed to all end quite quickly. But overall still a really good series to read!

Not a wholly disappointing ending to a lacklustre series, but nothing see inspiring either. And I just feel like I’d hate if I’d had to consume it in any other format than audio (because narrator is actually amazing)
The FMC once again dabbled in bad decision making as her whole being, but I have to give her grace because sometimes it was the only possible path forward. But it doesn’t make it any less grating.
The MMC’s character sheets don’t exactly lineup perfectly with what’s written and with what they portray, and frankly I only vibe with Cain, and mainly because he’s mostly off the page (what does that say about the writing 😳)

The ending is not exactly satisfying, but as all contemporary/fantasy romance books it ends where you’d expect, but it took deep dives in weird writing choices.
Like adding some mind control halos and then making them semi optional and then never explaining how their influence is broken? Or how one cunt is omnipotent but dies like a squashable bug without much effort.

So, the ending was pretty hand-wavy - - but I was mostly in this for the characters, so I didn't care too much.
It was a fun, very fast series.

how did she get those halos off her dragons? how did a halo that supposedly worked by making them all dragon, not human, even still WORK on Kain after she separated him from his dragon? like, why would evil witch lady even expect it to work? how did Linden become king, like what happened to daddy douche? what really happened to split apart the king and the solstice queen, anyway? did she love him? did he scorn her for her magic? what??It was a fun, very fast series.
