I’m really glad that this is a story that is out in the world- it brought up a lot of important themes and topics in a way that encourages reflection.
However, I listened to the audiobook version. And while The woven together storylines did add depth to this story, there was definitely a lot to keep track of. Especially on audio when I couldn’t just flip back to the person’s previous chapters. There were definitely some characters that fell through the cracks because I couldn’t keep track of all the names/details. So I don’t know that I felt the full full weight of all the stories.

This is an incredible read. It is very symbolic of current and past struggles within Indigenous communities in America. It is immensely thought-provoking, intentional, and reflective.
