how do you even review the final pages of a series that has made its way into your whole being?

Maggie let us say goodbye to her impossible world in such a magical way that really makes the sadness of letting go feel right. There is so much love in her pages, so much belonging. Each time I am ready for it and still each time I am pleasantly surprised.

This is an ending exceeded expectations I wasn't aware I had, it feels effortless. I'm going to always hold these characters in my heart.

I feel like I’m mostly just disappointed. I have adored The Raven Cycle and it’s characters and story for years. I trusted the first two books of this trilogy although I thought they were just okay because I love Stiefvater as an author and truly expected the third book to pull everything together, but for me it just didn’t. Everything was too fanciful in a “magic can fix everything” kind of way. For the stakes to be as high as they were, it never felt like there was ever any real danger. It felt like new information was being dropped on us so that the author could come up with an ending for a story she didn’t fully plan. Critical things that just don’t make sense being announced at the final hour. It felt like some characters were not written out of character to create tension. The only part I somewhat liked was the epilogue and that’s probably because it had old TRC characters. Sort of a bitter way to end a universe I’ve cherished, with a trilogy that fell very flat.

Writing this has me all emotional. I loved this book. Stepping back into this book, this world, felt like coming home. I've been reading and knowing these characters for a very long time now. To see it all get wrapped up and end is bittersweet.

<3 this book <3

I cried multiple times throughout and when I finished this book I sobbed. I read The Raven Boys when I was 16 and now ten years later I finished Greywaren and that feels very surreal.

Much better ending for this universe than The Raven King was, lemme tell ya, and that's the nicest thing I have to say

Spoiler The way Adam Parrish, the loml and my king, was absolutely damsel-ed through out the entire last half makes me sick. SICK.

No, YOU’RE crying.
