I was surprised by how disappointed I was with this final conclusion to the Dreamer Trilogy. The first book was AMAZING, the second book was lackluster (I was hoping it was the second book slump), and this book? I bought it THE DAY it was released, eager to devour it, and it has sat collecting dust on my nightstand for MONTH because I lost interest 30% through. Ronan is sidelined, the other characters are just wandering around adjusting to new (boring) lifestyles, and it was so sloooowww. Stiefvater does a great job with character development, and that certainly shines in this book. However, it lost all the momentum from the first book in the series and was not a satisfying conclusion plot-wise (although satisfying with how some of the relationships wrapped up <3 ).
the epilogue i’m feeling soooo normal (but is that in a good way or a bad way who even knows)
I ... I can't believe ... that it's over ... it ... it can't be over.
Oh God ... that was ... that was so beautiful and I still feel slightly numb. I miss Ronan and all the others already.
Oh man...

This was a good end to the trilogy, but I’m sad that there won’t be more in this universe. Would have loved to see what Gansey and Blue got up to as adults, and all the shenanigans at 300 Fox Way.
how do you rate the end to a series that, for a decade now, has been so deeply a part of you that when you bleed, words from the text trickle out? easy, answer — you don’t!
ill be fair and say i do miss blue and gansey and wish we saw more of them but everything else in this book made me very happy. now pLEASE LET THEM ALL LIVE HAPPY FOR THE REST OF THEIR DAYS. P L E A S E
i have. so many emotions and they haven't quite sunk in yet
DON'T TALK TO ME. i'm in mourning.
this can't be the end. i will throw a tantrum the likes of which this nation has never seen. i refuse to believe it.
sure, this was not a perfect book, and i miss gansey and i miss blue and i miss the psychic family and i miss everyone and everything that made the original series better than this follow up trilogy...
but mostly i just miss this whole world already.
these are the only YA books i've loved in what feels like a really long time, and so in a way, saying goodbye to them feels like saying goodbye to childhood. and i don't want to do either.
so i'm going to pretend, instead.
bottom line: i still believe adam and ronan to be the less interesting characters, and i still think this series lacks the plot and depth of the original, and i still find them less beautifully written and compelling, and i still see the adherence to 1,000 perspectives to be a detraction from this at every level...but mostly i just miss it already.
