This one wasn't as good as the other two for me, but still a good, short, hot read.

BDSM but lighthearted and fun, not dark and brooding. This was exactly what I needed at this moment. It was perfect.

Bret was cute and unusual, yep that's it. The long monologues was pure torture. Didn't feel any heat in their scenes.

I didn't hate it but the whole situation didn't ring true to me.

Very much a BDSM story on the gentle side. I really enjoyed the love-story element. Bret was my favourite, the submissive but so open and honest about what he wants and not afraid to go for it!

Porn-tastic AND funny - a winning combination!

Love me a bratty sub, and Bret was a good'un.

Once a Brat is an exciting short read, but despite the novel being short it was full of kinky and naughty stuff I'm sure you'll love.

Oh wow isn't this book a first time to me, I never thought I'd read a full detail short novel about this highly sexual topic - submissive and dominance. As much as I want to say it worked on me I would have to say it didn't, although I was a bit turned on for awhile but then again the subject matter isn't really for me. I don't want to actually go into details but this book is hot given a different perspective. I was looking for something different, something more that would let me connect with the characters. I'd like to say that this book has definitely thought me a thing or two about submission and dominance. But like I said, the thing isn't really for my taste. As raunchy and sexy this book can be, it needs a little more substance. The connection between the two characters is definitely there but I'd say it did affect me a little bit.

Overall I think this book is hot and sexy, although the subject matter was new to me I did enjoy it some of the parts. I'd recommend this to you if you're looking for a good understanding about submission and dominance. This book was definitely an eye opener for me, it left a bit of an impression to me actually.

I have to admit: I really love Kim Dare's writing! And this book just reinforces this.

I know they are short, but she can definitely pack a punch (hmm, not sure if it's pun intended or not) into a few pages. Yes I'm always wanting more, but on the other hand she tells enough to satisfy...

I love these two MC's. They are different in a lot of 'usual' BDSM stories because of Bret being such a brat and Marcus being a Dom who can actually appreciate it in a way. And the idea of stopping a scene even though a safeword was accidentally used appealed to be greatly as well. I honestly can't wait to read more in this series.

It was refreshing to read about a sub that felt no need to act submissive toward other Doms besides his own. However, I was a little annoyed by the instalove:

"I loved you the first moment I set eyes on you, sir."

Why? What drew Bret's attention to Marcus that first night?

Just one week after their first scene together, Bret thought:

Marcus was essential to his survival. His heart wouldn't be able to beat without him.

Again, what makes Marcus so special to Bret? No explanation is ever given for this immediate devotion. After finishing the book, I know nothing about Marcus other than that he's a Dom and he likes Bret's cheekiness.

It was a nice light read, but it definitely lacked depth.

Nicely paced and a lovely story to introduce Bret to us, Michael's brat that played cupid to Jack and McCormack. Still I kinda felt like the emotional roller coaster was missing. The high were the misunderstanding or fight or whatever happens between the protagonists and you just HAVE to read the next pages to see how it'll go so that everything can fall into place in the end.
