Awesome! Made me want to reread fairytales

I am glad that I continued with this series, but the second one wasn’t better than the first for me. It had many of the same charming bookish vibes, but it somehow lost the enchanting quality.
I liked the further exploration of book wandering and learning more about the Underlibrary. I also loved the fact that this story was primarily set in Paris. The setting was the thing that added that hint of enchantment to the story. Anna James is also really great at describing things in an atmospheric way.
One of my favorite things about the book was that it explored fairytales. That brought me a lot of nostalgia and influenced my opinion of the book in a positive way.

Oh how I love this series. It really feels like I'm in the book when I'm reading. Magical, filled with love of stories, just lovely to read. The world is expanding and I'm so excited to know more

I didn’t enjoy as much as the first one but I do think we’re setting up things for the next book.. which I will be reading ASAP.

This series is just so cute, and would undoubtedly have been a favourite if I'd read these books as a kid. I liked the way fairytale characters were characterised in this one, especially when there were different versions like Red Riding Hood, and how the darker origins of fairy tales were approached. The politics of book wandering and the library system were approached really well for a middle grade book, and it definitely sets up Tilly's next adventure too, so I'm keen for the next book!
