Destiny of the Dead was a great follow up to Fate of the Fallen. Too much time had passed since I read the first book so it took me quite a while to really submerge myself into this book as I was constantly trying to remember things from book one. The last 100 pages are really where this book shone and I felt like I really knew and understood the characters again. I hope to see more relationship and camaraderie in the next book. A lot happens in this book but I really missed the feelings of relationships. I loved Matthias and his talking head in book one but geez was he an arrogant jerk in this book. He was constantly belittling Aaslo and being a distraction in crucial moments. I hope to see him again as more of comedic relief instead of pain in the butt next book.

This book was wild! I enjoyed following Aaslo and his companions again on this journey. I liked all the different teleportations and epic battles. And of course, the banter was amazing! That's what I look forward to the most in this series is the witty, fun dialogue between all the characters.

Sadly, I wasn't as engrossed in this one as I was in the first book. A couple of new perspectives were introduced and I wasn't totally into them. I just wanted to get back to Aaslo's, Myra's, or Mory's POV's. But regardless, I really enjoyed this and can't wait to pick up the sequel!

Liked everything about the book, other than the complete lack of any kind of resolution or conclusion. It feels like half of a completed story that was split in half. The battle at the end of the book isn’t even over, just a fight taking place during the battle.

DNF at 20 minutes into the audiobook. I quickly realized that I just don't care... I may try to pick this one back up at some point but for now it's just not doing anything for me.
