I've read in a lot of places that this is one of Follet's weaker books, so I can't wait to read his best ones. I really enjoyed the 1940/1950s settings and the story while very predictable was interesting enough and moved at a nice pace.

Despite the fact that I had this figured out early on, it was still a really fun read. Cold War intrigue = good stuff.

High-paced and therefore a quick read. Had some awkward and unrealistic dialogue and a couple bad sex scenes, which at this point is expected from Follett. Fun story nonetheless.

I've read a lot of good Ken Follett books and this is not one of them. The dialogue is stilted and the characters are dull.

The book was actually really awesome! It was about a man who wakes up with absolutely no memory of who he is or what he is doing. There are a few flashbacks to previous memories he no longer has that allows the reader to have a bigger background, but not all-knowing. During the college years, there are 4 or 5 friends who are influenced by WWII, and ten years later this is kind of the story of what happened to them at the end. Follett has a really awesome writing style where he is able to encompass the core events that define someone's life :D It was a fast read and evenly paced.
