The way this book ended is criminal. And honestly, I’m done reading series if we’re going to finish them on rude cliffhangers.
I’m over here like 7/8ths of the way through this MASTERPIECE (ok yes, it had flaws but like it was good) and I’m writing my review in my head like “wow I loved our FMC, the banter was great, loved the slow burn and the focus on her growth”
Can I just say, a third act breakup would’ve been a fucking gift comparatively.

Let me start off by saying that I was captivated by page 1; this book is slow but you learn a lot. We are introduced to a lot of characters and I love the banter we witness in this story. The sexual tension between Kieran and Arken is *chef’s kiss* if you guys love a slow burn this is a good one. It’s slow but not too slow. With every encounter between the two characters there is a lot of banter and inner monologue between the two about how much they want the other. It’s so good. The story building is immaculate as well, there’s so much detail and that’s what makes it great. To me this book was fully immersive! There’s a lot packed in and everything was great! 5/5 and I’d give the spice level a 2/5.

Slow pace then speeds up suddenly then ends. Would consider continuing the series but didn’t jump into trying to find book 2 right after

I was into this book from the beginning, but it seemed to just slow to a crawl. Nothing was happening. I ended up skimming from about 50% to the last couple of chapters. I am actually interested in what happens next. I really enjoyed the overall story, it just moved really slow.
