Sigh.... I really wanted to like this book but it just fell flat for me. I wanted to dnf it I really wanted to know the big secret the h was keeping so I'll admit that I skimmed a lot of the book.
I'm sorry, but I felt no connection with these two. None at all! And when she blurted out the "I love you..." ummm ma'am, no, you love the orgasms, not him! I just didn't get these two.
I normally love this author's books but sorry....

2 estrellas porque los personajes no me parecieron malos aunque muy clichés.

I absolutely adore Reasonable Doubt. It's one of my favorite books and I've been really looking forward to this book. While this gives you a lot of the "feelings" of it and I liked Damien Carter in ways, the story felt underdeveloped. Maybe more like a long novella than novel (in terms of the story development).
The spice is mostly behind doors, which isn't necessarily bad, but it was par for the course. We don't even know the real details in Damien coming to the rescue. We don't even know about some of his clients, which had REALLY interesting moral inclinations. The climax information we find out about Elizabeth was also...vague. I feel like I missed part of the book because I don't understand really how that all happened when there were like 9 others involved. How did one person end up the scapegoat? What is going on with the Sonny Caps condo?!
The characters had a fun meet-cute and then started sleeping together kind of randomly. I like the tension build-up in relationships like this and the chemistry between them had SO MUCH POTENTIAL, but it ended up lacking in any actual build-up. It's insta-lust. It's like we got a tiny taste and then we skipped over some of the development and then they started sleeping together all over the place. Maybe partially the story could have had more potential because at the bones, it's Reasonable Doubt again; however, this wasn't executed as well.
I liked Damien overall. He was very much a copy of Andrew Hamilton, except with a slight bend in the law POV. Definitely understand why they work together well. I liked some of his moments with Elizabeth like how he didn't necessarily balk about being more "romantic." Was he a jerk at times? Yes, but he also did some small things that showed he was falling for her.
Elizabeth was interesting and you knew something was a little off with her in the very beginning, but then we find out at the very end what happens. I liked how she worked hard, but we didn't really see much of anything else from her other than her helping Damien. I know Damien came to her rescue, but their make-up I could have used more communication between the two of them.
It's a quick read so it's a good book to read in between other reads. I will read Dirty Judge because I read just about anything from Whitney G, but I think my expectations will be lower than it was for this book.

Funny, sexy, and highly improbable, this was such an entertaining story! How can you believe that you crashed a very expensive car, belonging to a very gorgeous man, and end up working for said man? Only in a Whitney G book, and what a delightful story it was!
Their attraction was instant and intense; working together felt like continuous foreplay because Damien demanded and Elizabeth denied, and the back and forth was sublime. I laughed at Elizabeth’s total lack of respect and obedience for Damian, and marveled at his tolerance, that he showed only for her.
I completely loved how deeply Damien fell in love, a man who previously used women for pleasure and discarded after one night. I loved the many gestures that showed how much he cared. From a very cold person, he turned into a caring man!
They both had secrets from their past that affected their present behavior and it was super interesting to have them revealed.
Entertaining and page-turner, a lovely read!

I don’t even know where to begin with these two. Damien and Elizabeth met when she test ended his very expensive car with her crappy car. That’s where the fun begins. It’s so many things that happen in that moment that actually makes you laugh. Then it gets interesting when he turns out to be one of her bosses. He tried everything under the sun to make her quit but she was resilient. But one thing that couldn’t be hidden was their chemistry. But they did make a good legal team even though they had different views on how to apply the law. These two had tragic backgrounds that very few were aware of and tried doing right by the people they truly cared about. Then the story takes several unexpected turns that you never saw coming like holy wow what in the world. But when everything came full circle for both it was funny because these two also had lots of banter. Great story!!

Had so much potential and fell short. It’s strange how rushed the writing felt and yet the release was so delayed. I expected so much more out of this read, not sure if I’ll continue this series when the remaining books release.
