This is one dark and disturbing novel. I was not prepared for it. Perhaps it's par for the course in psychological thrillers (I don't read many), but I was amazed by how messed up this story is. It's an engaging book. I certainly powered through it, but beware if topics like violent rape make you queasy.

This book was a bit up and down for me and did drag in places but the last 150 pages were phenomenal. I had a great time overall reading this one. It is a hard read though in places with some graphic descriptions.
