I loved this just as much as I loved Boyfriend Material, and have knocked three-quarters of a star off purely because
personally I was looking forward to them getting married, and so personally I thought the end was a bit anti-climactic.
I think that’s a me problem, though.

Hilarious and witty dialogue, but the lack of communication between the central couple crosses the fine line from comical to frustrating. Still a very enjoyable read, and there are some beautiful moments where the characters examine and grow in their relationships with their parents.

I didn't like 4 Weddings and a Funeral so this format miffed me AND I found the ending sad. I think it was supposed to be liberating but the whole book felt so sad, not romantic. Maybe I'll like it better on reread (I reread Boyfriend Material yesterday and liked it far more than I did the first time around!).

Four weddings and a funeral feel. Honest character examinations and conversations are my favorite parts of this series. I hope character spin offs are coming, I miss this gang already.

People were LAMBASTING this book on tiktok so I was expecting worse but besides the constant argument about the concept of rainbows, which annoyed me to no end, I liked this book a lot. The ending is definitely a real standout, and I’m really excited for what this kind of meditation on marriage in LGBTQ+ romance means for the genre (if this book has an impact on the genre, which God I hope it does.)

Feeling decidedly blah about this sequel. I wish the subversion had come a lot earlier as the end fell flat for me after watching the main couple bicker for most of it.
