I think my experience may have been tainted by the narrator. The whispering voices made me want to vomit. But also had an issue with the mixed tones of this. YA vibes but with a lot of violence and sex... I felt very awkward reading about teenagers described as children having oral sex. It just didn't meld for me. Also the morals of the characters were so inconsistent they just didn't make sense.

I read many reviews saying how hard it was to get through reading this book... and I totally agree with them.
I’ve had a very hard time reading the first half of the book with all its adjectives and footnotes (and yes I am this kind of person that has to read every single little thing) and this was the main reason reading this took me forever

I am very glad I pulled myself together and actually finished it!

Even tho the first half was kind of hard to read, I couldn’t put the book down and finished the other half in 2 days. I absolutely love this story with the character Mia Corvere!
And the way how brutally this is written? I’m all for it!
Also I couldn’t help but read all the overly dramatic written parts with a very sarcastic voice since I felt like the ‘author’ is indeed a very sarcastic person.

After reading the first two sentences of the book I knew this book will be amazing and I were right.

Ho adorato il libro. Ogni. Sua. Parola.
I prossimi li comprerò in inglese.

This was like Hogwarts meets Assassin’s Creed.

I loved the evolution of Mia. I can’t wait to read the next one.

Read for my 'Acceptable' N.E.W.T in Astronomy 2019 #magicalreadathon. Prompt - Moon on the cover or in the title. Career choice - Ministry of Magic, Department of Mysteries Worker.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I was but I shouldn't be surprised since it is Jay Kristoff. I'll admit it was hard for me to get into it in the beginning but it soon picked up and the footnotes were really fun to read and it was actually refreshing to read something really dark and gory that you really don't get in YA all that much. Mia has officially become one of my all time favorite characters and I can't wait to read more of her in the next books.
