I really enjoyed the world building, the relationship between the gods, ancient empires with forgotten skills, a school of assassins.
But my experience was tainted by some troubling issues, such as the school having a discipline that is basically teaching students to behave like a stereotypical 'femme fatale', but the protagonist and other characters in the story are underage. In addition, there is the use of a sacred Jewish name on a character who has a kind of blood magic, an anti-Semitic stereotype.

I feel obligated to start by warning you that this book was FULL of profanity, and lots of sexy bits that made me too uncomfortable to read (so I skipped them)-- but then, it is a book about a teenage assassin, so, you know, what is appropriate about that anyway?
I COULD NOT put this book down. It was so fascinating. The protagonist is "not without her charm," and the world Kristoff has built intrigues and invites. The narrative voice is superb. For fans of dark fantasy, everything about this book is a good idea. I got only three hours of sleep last night because of this book, and I do not regret it one bit.

Que maravilla de libro es este. Una historia súper bien trabajada que te mantiene con ganas de seguir leyendo sin parar, bueno salvo por alguno o dos capítulos casi al principio que me parecieron un tanto extensos y que me parecieron un tanto exagerados, el resto del libro se me ha hecho que cada cosa tenía y tomaba importancia conforme avanzaba en la lectura. Vaya personajes y escenarios, los giros que hay en su gran mayoría no los vi venir y me han sorprendido para bien. Estoy deseando leer el segundo libro ya :)
