actually started off okay! I enjoyed the whole virgin princess of hell thing. the few twists were nice too....
the only thing that's overshadowing this is the synopsis I read for book 2.
this on its on was a fun story and had a ton of promise. muriel could have been made into a seriously great and strong character which is how she started out. Auric was a perfect match for her. Even as we find out exactly who he is...
there is of course a villain - not her dad! who seems fixated on capturing her. This evil being is left unnamed so we don't know who he is but he has a lot of power.
like I say - I liked the book! The heat rose off the pages in the sex scenes which didn't dominate the book which was perfect.
book two.....if you get to it you'll find out I guess!!! ;)

In Lucifer's Daughter we have a beginning of a series that took my breath away and is very rare for a freebie on amazon. But its Eve Langlais so I don't know why I am so surprised. I will say that this is NOT a book to take seriously. Folks....just laugh and cry along with this story because its meant to have fun with and entertain. In this book we have a story about a young woman, who doesn't quite fit in to the norm of what is expected of her. Muriel is Lucifer's daughter, and unlike her siblings, she doesn't want to go down the dark and dreary path of hell. She is a virgin, and is waiting for the right man and for love. Her father is appalled that his beloved daughter is so unlike him. And the one man that Muriel falls madly for, is the last man that Lucifer would ever choose for his daughter.
This was a highly entertaining book that kept me laughing and lively all the way through. I do not mind the whole "virgin" element at all, I feel like its rarely used anymore and it definitely worked for this book. We see a heroine that is striving to mostly be "good" and she wants a lasting relationship and not mindless sex that has no meaning. So brava for her, its what is important for her and she stands her ground and I loved that about her. She isn't afraid of standing up for what she believes in and I admired this quality in her.And her relationship with her father is so hilarious. I love seeing how they interact with each other.
I truly had a blast with this book because it had plenty of smexiness, laughter, adventure and suspense and a teaser in the end but our couple gets their happy ending. The only downside I had for this book, was after reading learning about the rest of the books in the series that revolve around this heroine. I am not sure if I will continue in the series, since each book she adds on a new man to sleep with. And boy am I super picky about menage set ups and not sure it will work for me but I am so curious about what will happen with the villains in the story.
Overall, this book was a fun and sexy story that didn't disappoint and made me realize why I love this author's style of writing. Be ready to be entertained.

“You’re making me look like a bad parent. My minions in Hell are mocking me. There have even been rumors I’m no longer fit to be the Father of All Sin since I can’t even control my own daughter.” “Whatever happened to being rewarded for rebellions against our parents? I thought that was a huge sin.” “Rebelling with kind acts and the truth wasn’t what I had in mind!”
Lucifer’s brows shot up. “What do you mean you just talked? Where is this idiot? I’m going to have a talk with him about defiling my daughter. Maybe he needs pointers.” “Dad!” I squealed. “That is so gross. And he doesn’t need any help. I told you I’m not having sex until I’m in love.”

Have you read Eve Langlais before? Do you like her style of writing and diversity in romance?
What are your thoughts on virgin characters in romance?

I wasn't sure how great this one was going to be but to be honest...It was a pretty good read. I always forget how much I love paranormal. I was drawn in and would keep thinking about it after I had to put it down to do things around the house. I was left wondering what is going to happen next. I will add this series to my list of books to get to when I have time to find out what happens... :)

Not her best work and not my favorite.
However, it was funny and had a lot of action, twist and turns.

Lucifer's Daughter is book 1 in the Princess of Hell series. I've enjoyed a book by this author in the past so I grabbed this one when I saw it was a freebie forever ago. I'm glad I did because this was a fun paranormal read.
Muriel, the daughter of Lucifer, yes that Lucifer, is living in the human world running a bar for a living. Much to her father's dismay, she's determined to keep her virginity intact until she's in love with a man. Though when she runs into a guy on the street and keeps bumping into him and his friends she starts to question her decision. Auric, the guy in question is a hunky hero that was shrouded in mystery a good portion of the book. What we do know is that he's paranormal and he has a hero complex. He and his friends try to save Muriel on several occasions, though most of the time she has the situation well in hand. With the constant attacks against Muriel, things get spiced up when we find out there's someone trying to unseat Lucifer from his position and he's willing to take out Muriel too.
Lucifer's Daughter is an entertaining Urban Fantasy that left me wanting the next book ASAP. I loved the snark and humor as well as the steamy scenes. I forgot how much I enjoyed ELanglais' book in the past, I really need to read more of her work soon. If you're a fan of Urban Fantasy with a kick-butt heroine you'll need to grab this book.

Good start and finish, but the middle was a bit slow and boring. The romance was pretty sub-par. Overall, I enjoyed it and plan to read the next in the series.
