This book has become one of my favorites of all time. The writing was beautiful, and really everything I could have ever asked for. Collins writes in such a way, that at every chapter she leaves you hanging. That is what makes a good author, that is what makes you beg for more. This book left me in a cold sweat, with white knuckles gripping the pages. Any book that can make me do that, in my mind, is a masterpiece. Regardless of the fact that it is now a fad, I am still so in love with this book. I recommend it to everyone. Read it even if you have seen the movie.

This book was truly a master piece. I loved everything about this book. And the romance is so BEAUTIFUL. My love for Peeta only grew 1000% more because of this book he is everything. The tension and the characters are so much better developed then the movies which I’ve seen many times before. I’m so happy I made the decisions to read the book because it was truly amazing. Then ending just let me wanting more and more!!! I am so excited to read the next book and for the Ballad of songbirds and snakes to come out.

I read this book around 10 years ago in high school and I liked it quite a bit. Upon rereading it however, I appreciated and loved this book even more than before. I was hooked for the entire book even though I knew the ending.

The only con I have about this book is how short it is at 374 pages. I feel like the plot moves astronomically fast. The author could have easily made this book go more into detail and be 500-700 pages even. Not a major con however.

Conclusion:
Im not usually a YA fan at all, but The Hunger Games is the least "childish" YA book there is. Very brutal and engaging plot. At this point its pretty much a YA classic even though it was published less than 15 years ago. A must read for nearly any fan of YA and/or dystopion genre.

This was my fourth time reading this book, but the first time I’ve listened to the audiobook.

Actress Tatiana Maslany uses her amazing acting talent to bring a new life to Katniss Everdeen. THG is one of my favorite book series and I’m a HUGE fan of Maslany.

As someone who knows this story so well, I was surprised to get a different perspective of Katniss. Maslany’s interpretation brought a vulnerability that to the character that I have always overlooked. Affecting different voices, Maslany gives each character their own personality.

All three audiobooks in the trilogy are narrated by Maslany-a definite must-listen for me!
