Best read-aloud book ever. My husband and I have a long commute to do several times a week, so we read books in the car. I have to say that this set of books by Christopher Moore - and Bite Me in particular - have been the most enjoyable read-aloud material I can ever remember doing. Abby cracks me up with every single word, and her character really makes the story. Moore's take on vampirism also works very well, creating delightful conflicts and difficult situations. (I also have to wonder if his character Isabella was a wink at the Twilight books - I wouldn't put it past him.) I do hope he keeps writing more of these - this is one set of books I don't feel like I could quite get enough of.

EDITORIAL REVIEW:

The city of San Francisco is being stalked by a huge shaved vampyre cat named Chet, and only I, Abby Normal, emergency backup mistress of the Greater Bay Area night, and my manga-haired love monkey, Foo Dog, stand between the ravenous monster and a bloody massacre of the general...

a fun, fast read.

Quickly lost my attention after a couple chapters. I didn't particularly care for the way the narrative character wrote.

I Love Abby Normal.
She rocks my socks.

The amusing and action-packed conclusion to the vampiric love story of Jody and Tommy is another fun ride. Abby Normal takes over a major role in the narration in this book, and many returning characters appear - the Emperor and his men, the detectives, and the Animals. Many new characters - both vampiric and not - are introduced, but, by far, the craziest is Chet the vampire cat and his minions. The ending is a nice wrap-up for the trilogy, with both expected and surprise elements. Fun read!

Cute book. If you read this, make sure you've read the first one, as this is a bit of a follow up to Moore's first vampire novel. This is definitley a light-hearted novel, not as cutesy as the Sookie Stackhouse novels, and not as serious as the Anita Blake novels. It's full of Moore's wit and is a quick and fun beach read. The characters are fun, and there are a few laugh out loud moments. If you enjoy vampire stories and enjoy a bit of dark humor, give this one a try.

OMG. This is SO fun. I hadn't realized it was book 3 in the series. Must go back to Book 1 next.

I am having so much fun with this. The protagonist is a 17-year-old with a Valley Girl accent and viewpoint. The writing is just delightful.

Update: Sorry this had to end. It was engrossing and fun the whole way through. Tense and a bit gory at parts but well worthwhile. I honestly believe the experience was completely enhanced by this being an audio book and so skillfully read. Loved it.

Vampires in San Francisco. Sequel to "You Suck."

Very funny
