Weird and incomprehensible. From the POV of a teenager with no linear narrative or explanations for anything.
Definitely not as good or as funny as the previous two. Still cute and all, but sort of got a "this has gone one way too long" feeling almost from the start, and got bored reading at several parts.
This is an ARC. I couldn't put this book down. I read it in one day. If you liked Bloodsucking Fiends and You Suck you will love this one.
C. Moore delivers once again! Oh, how I love Abby Normal. I'm glad she was prominently featured in this one.
Di Moore ho letto solo la saga dei vampiri, A Love Story, e leggendo le opinioni sparse per il web mi sono sentito sempre ghettizzato, dall'inizio alla fine: Bloodsucking Fiends, essendo uno dei primi di libri di Moore, è considerato immaturo rispetto al resto; Bite Me, essendo uno degli ultimi libri di Moore, è considerato privo della verve che l'ha reso famoso.
In quindici anni Moore dovrebbe essere passato da un estremo all'altro e io, de gustibus a parte, vorrei solo prendervi a pugni: a me questa saga ha divertito e appassionato tantissimo, cosa affatto scontata in un'epoca in cui di vampiri non ne posso più, True Blood lo guardo per pigrizia e Penny Dreadful per poco non lo mollavo solo per la presenza di Dracula.
Detto questo, Bite Me è tutt'altro che perfetto ed è probabilmente il più debole della trilogia.
Difetti: Abby, per quanto spassosissima, è fin troppo al centro dell'attenzione; Jody e Tommy sono separati per tutto il tempo, non sembrano neanche più i protagonisti; i personaggi secondari, l'Imperatore e gli Animali, rimangono in disparte più del dovuto; la minaccia dei gatti vampiri all'inizio e quella dei vecchi vampiri alla fine rimane sullo sfondo e viene risolta troppo semplicemente; la conclusione è affrettata — non mi avrebbero fatto schifo altre trenta pagine.
Però, che vi devo dire, a me ha divertito uguale, l'ho letto in un baleno e mi ha rattristato pensare che non leggerò più nulla di Jody e Tommy, a meno che non rispuntino in qualche altro libro di Moore.

Much preferred Bloodsucking Fiends and You Suck, but this was still interesting. It was a quick read and I wasn't too keen on the way the story was told; jumping back and forth between characters with Abby narrating most of it (annoyingly, of course).
Silly fun, and it ties up the story begun two books ago. I enjoy these characters, especially the Emperor and his "men," so it was nice to re-visit them, but it's not something I'll highly recommend the way I've done with a couple of Moore's others.

Bite Me, is the third (and hopefully last) installment of Christopher Moore's Love Story series. The action starts with Abigail Von Normal, minion of the countess with an IQ of -12, nesting in her love lair with her science- oriented and manga haired boy toy, Foo-Dog. The lovers bizarre mating rituals are interrupted when the city of San Francisco is plagued by a herd of Vampire Cats, with Chet, the fat shaved cat, as the alpha cat-vamp. Jody and Flood are released from their bronze prison to try and once again thwart this city-wide crisis. The humor in this book went from funny to foul as quickly as a fish left in a desk drawer overnight. Christopher Moore is normally an accomplished humorist, but this book fell short. If you have invested the time to read the first two books in the series you may want to pick this one up for closure reasons, but if you haven't and you happen to be reading this then run! Run fast and find something else to read.
