Interesting perspective on the "Four Horsemen". I understand what he is talking about and agree with much of Scott talks about. He seems really pessimistic about the four companies and I can't tell why. Maybe Scott had a run in with them? That being said, I believe there are some big issues with how much power the four have, not to mention all the information they all have about everyone that uses their services. Scott seems to throw conflicting views about using one of the four horsemen but then says that in order to be on top of everything and move up in the world you need to use all of their services and the new services that will come. Scott also talks about the disparity between the rich and the poor and how it is growing. I couldn't agree more with it. The people running the big companies are gaining more of the wealth and killing the middle class. How do we change it? That is the next problem we will all need to solve.
Overview of the new titans of tech
A good look at the four tech companies that have had the most impact on the post-industrial economy. Liked it.

This book had some excellent points about the ways that Google, Amazon, Apple and Facebook have gained power and have skirted laws in order to become dominant but it was difficult to read around the continuous and rampant misogyny.
This was an interesting take on the 4 most influential companies in our lives today!
Using the big names companies names for a fancy book name to create “something”. Not well organized data, some good ideas but scattered, mixed by Scott’s own personal story about the Times investment (I felt it was the real reason he wrote that book+ make some money off the book name) I didn’t get the DNA of the big horsemen.
More like separate presentations sttiched togther to create a book. Last three chapters totally useless.

This is a very interesting book.
The things discussed in this book about Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google are quite fascinating. There were a few things that I actually already knew before reading this book, but there were so much more that I didn't. This book is such a mind-opener in terms of understanding how the biggest industries in the world are evolving and how they are trying to maintain/keep their position.
There were times where I thought the author was a bit too whiny, but I kept reading towards the end and I was glad I did. There were a lot of things I would have missed if I didn't.
I like Galloway's writing minus the whiny parts, but he must have his reason so I'd just respect that.
I'm just a little sad that I only got to read this book in 2020. A lot of things are different now, and with the pandemic going on, the game for these big industries are changing quite a bit. His predictions for the fifth horseman would probably be different by now.
But I think the key takeaway I'd like to remember from this book is how we as individual human beings can make ourselves be adaptive to changes, how we can find our leverage and thus thrive in this world that is being defined by the four and the ones to come.

Je ne suis pas la cible de ce genre de livre. Mais c’était assez fascinant.
