I quite enjoyed this ending, although it didn't catch me as much as the beginning did. I was surprised about how much I enjoyed Sigrud's time in the spotlight - his journey was very cathartic and emotional. Also, this end to the trilogy wrapped up some plot threads that were still subtly hanging around from the previous books in an extremely satisfying way.
Overall, a quite enjoyable series!

A fitting wrap for an epic fantasy series. Urban fantasy is probably the best description, although I could see steampunk as well. This book wraps up the various threads and character arcs started in the first two books in a very satisfactory (to me at least) way. Like the earlier books, I didn't find it to really be much of a mystery where things we going, with the twists being pretty obvious from hints dropped along the way. But I didn't think that was a bad thing, since the story was still great despite knowing generally where it was headed. The characters are pretty much all great, and we repeatedly see underlying themes of the dangers of concentrated power.

I think this was a fantastic end to the series. Really well done. I even teared up at the end.

I did not expect to feel so much by the end of this book but truly such a great end to the series.
City of Miracles was the culmination of Robert Jackson Bennett's wonderfully original fantasy series. The world building is excellent - it is completely different from our world, but also vaguely familiar. The character development is some of the best I have read in the genre, especially over the course of the entire series. The third book takes the series to the next level and has a satisfying conclusion. It knits together pieces from the previous books and shows us a bigger picture than what it seemed to be. I remember really liking the second book but not feeling a lot of connection between it and the previous book. This third book showed me how wrong I was in that assessment. It is an ending that makes me want to reread the series with a new perspective in mind. I would definitely recommend this series to fans of the fantasy genre.
a satisfying conclusion to a trilogy, everything went full circle, and each character had a beautifully tied ending. it's been months since i last read this, and i still think about this story, will definitely miss these characters.
The hell was that ending?
I'm sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself. After the notable improvement of City of Blades I was almost excited to pick up the final chapter. And at least for the first few chapters, it was pretty good. And then the ending happened.
The hell was that?
Maybe one day I can piece my brain together about what just happened, but man, this whole series is massively overhyped, at least for me.
I'll give the series as a whole a 3/5.
