I have fallen in love.

There are no words. No words that can equate to my feelings for A Sky Painted Gold. It was everything and more.

The book follows Lou, a young girl from Cornwall and her life during the summer of 1929 when she meets the Cardew siblings and falls head first into the glitzy glamourous lifestyle they bring with them from London.

I especially loved the way Laura Wood has used Lou’s naivety of this glamorous world to make the reader feel as though they are there discovering the glamour alongside Lou. I have never wanted to be part of that era more than I do right now!

The story itself is wonderful - It doesn’t take itself too seriously, there is no drama and its just a lovely summer read about love, happiness and youth.

Also - Those parties are INSANE, I am a huge jazz fan as it is and I want to be as swoony glamourous as they are! Pretty please?! Needless to sat a 1920s birthday party is officially in the cards!!
