I enjoyed this audiobook about Beth and Tom Hardcastle, who have been married for seven years and have a three-year-old daughter. Tom is questioned by the police about a murder and this causes Beth to question him and their life. But how much does she really already know? This is a great book which has plenty of twists and turns and I was always eager to read on to find out who I could really trust and who really knew what. I enjoyed the big reveal at the end. The narrators of the book were very good.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

he is insanely fucked up

Beth and Tom Hardcastle live an idyllic life, he a commuting banker, she the owner of a pottery cafe. But their life gets turned upside down when the police show up to question Tom about a woman's disappearance eight years ago. Soon Tom is on remand charged with multiple murders and Beth is dealing with the fall out. And everyone has questions; did she know? Did she Keep his secrets? Did she have a hand in the murders?
A lot of hype surrounding this one, particularly with it having been picked up for TV. An easy read, decent characters, and pretty standard all things considered. Nothing earth shattering, the twists were pretty easy to foresee, and the events were believable enough. I'll give the other two in the series a go and see if Hunter manages to inject something more surprising into them.

I have recently finished "The Serial Killer's Wife", and I must say, it was a gripping read that kept me on the edge of my seat! The narrative was skillfully crafted, with the story unfolding in tantalizing layers, which made it difficult to put the book down, even when work called. The pacing was excellent, allowing for a gradual buildup of tension and suspense that kept me eagerly turning the pages.

One of the standout aspects of the book was the character of Beth. Initially, I found myself rooting for her, feeling sympathy for her situation as the wife of a notorious serial killer. The author did an impressive job of drawing the reader into her world and emotions, making her struggles all the more relatable. However, the plot twist at the end left me feeling a bit conflicted. While I appreciate a good twist, I wasn't entirely satisfied with how Beth's character was revealed to be both evil and manipulative. It felt like a betrayal of the connection I had formed with her throughout the story.

Overall, "The Serial Killer's Wife" is a captivating thriller that offers a unique perspective on the life of someone married to a criminal mastermind. Despite my reservations about the final twist, I enjoyed the journey and the exploration of complex characters. If you're looking for a book that will keep you up at night, this one is certainly worth a read!

Absolutely loved this debut domestic psychological thriller. A classic page turner that takes the reader on a rollercoaster ride full of twists and turns. Calculated and manipulative characters this definitely keeps the reader wanting to read more and found out how the story will conclude.

I found this hard to put down. The author drops us straight into the drama, and the backstory is weaved in really well making this flow well and easy to follow. This does include some descriptions of BDSM that some readers may find upsetting.

As a debut book I was incredibly impressed. I will definitely be on the look out for more by this author. Highly recommend picking this up on publication date.
