[Re-Read] Of course it would be a five stars again. This book was so goddamn beautiful and emotional.
I loved the found family trope so bad and i actually liked the miscommunication trope with Delilah and Astrid (they’re sisters). It got me all emotional

Delilah Green Doesn't Care captured my heart from the very first page. I'll admit, I approached this book with anticipation, hoping it would live up to its promise, and boy, did it exceed every expectation!

Set in a small town, this delightful tale revolves around Delilah, a spirited artist who reluctantly returns home to photograph her step-sister's wedding. What unfolds is a captivating journey of self-discovery, tangled relationships, and the rekindling of a connection with Claire, her sister's best friend and a dedicated single mother.

The beauty of this story lies not just in its enchanting romance but in the intricate layers woven into the narrative. Delilah and Claire's magnetic chemistry leaps off the pages, blending passion and tenderness in a way that feels authentic and heartwarming. Their vulnerabilities are beautifully portrayed, adding depth to their characters as they navigate past traumas and evolving family dynamics.

Blake's storytelling prowess shines through the nuanced portrayal of each character, from Delilah's quest to break free from her isolated past to Claire's journey as a devoted mother and a woman rediscovering herself. The supporting cast is equally compelling, each contributing to the rich tapestry of this small-town world.

What sets this book apart is its ability to seamlessly navigate between heartfelt moments, steamy romance, and genuine, relatable conflicts. The writing style is nothing short of captivating, effortlessly blending a dual narrative while infusing every character with distinct personalities that leap off the page.

The emotional depth resonated deeply with me, tugging at heartstrings and occasionally evoking laughter and tears. The tender yet sizzling scenes between Delilah and Claire were beautifully depicted, showcasing the raw, magnetic attraction between them.

For fans of small-town romances and sapphic love stories, this book is an absolute gem. It encapsulates the complexities of relationships, parenthood, and healing, leaving a lasting impression. Trust me, this is a journey you won't want to miss.

I’m not much of a contemporary romance fan, when I pick one up I tend to get a little bored… but not with this book! It read like a early 2000s rom com… but sapphic. I’m so excited for the next installments!

P.S.- This book is 100% about queer joy. If you’re looking for a book that doesn’t have homophobia a central theme in the story and just want happiness, this is for you.

This book honestly surprised me with how much I enjoyed it. I was expecting to pick up a cute and fun Queer summer read, and ended up blowing through this book while wiping away a few tears at the end. The heart of this story is so beautiful. Beyond the whimsical descriptions and taste of a small, pretty but complicated town, the characters are intricately crafted. The chemistry between Delilah and Claire is electric and full body blush-worthy. The space they create in their evolving romance is a study in trust and supportive love. Delilah’s fraught childhood and the misunderstandings with Astrid were built out so well, creating an amazing frame for understanding her reservations and reactions. Claire’s insecurities paired with her unending ability to trust in the good of others [sometimes to a fault] was so sweet and beautifully paired with the sideplots of her friendships and coparenting struggles. There was such a beautiful balance to the love story and the world of Bright falls, the friendships created and the absolute bullets dodged in some unfortunately very accurately depicted men. I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the series and see what love story comes next.
I highly suggest this book to any person who grew up with Gilmore Girls wishing for a queer love story to walk into Stars Hollow.
