While I do think all of the characters involved could have used a healthy dose of therapy before attempting anything resembling a romantic relationship, I do like this story. I also like that there's more emotional intimacy than physical intimacy, and that the characters at least try to help each other through emotional challenges.

The romance is important, of course, but where the novel truly shines is in how it handles Delilah and Astrid's sibling dynamic, or lack thereof. It's healing, in a way that's familiar to anyone who's had the unfortunate experience of alienation within family, or been on the receiving end of a controlling parent. Having said that, the romance is nothing to sniff at either. The consequences to the situation are real, and Claire's situation is handled so well. I think the title of this novel does it a disservice in it's simplicity; it's without a doubt worth a read.

This was a fun and quick read. Great steam and I enjoyed the plot and all the photography references. This book had a lot about Astrid for her not being an MC but I suppose that’s setting her up as one of the MCs in the next one. There were a couple of times in the book where the author described a character as white, and when this first happened I thought there would be an introduction of character(s) of other races… but then all the characters were white. That was a little odd. I’m not sure what’s better when an author makes all their characters white - letting the reader assume race or describing everyone’s race, but what would be best is including racial diversity. I did appreciate the bi and lesbian representation.

A little lacking in plot complexity but found the characters to be very believable and relatable and felt the plot synchronized well with the characters and their own issues. Really good for a romance novel with no bit premise.
