The Best of Me

Nicholas Sparks

3.7 AVERAGE

I wanted to read this book prior to the film which is coming out on October the 18th. Cause I have the experience to dislike the books once i've seen the film first and then read the book. And I do think I'm glad I read the book first cause it tells a good story with a unpredictable end. In the last few chapters it had me pretty curious on how it should end. So I had to finish reading this tonight. I'm looking even more forward to the movie now to see if they stayed close to the book.
Overall I really recommend you to read this book!

Beautiful story, I loved it and I cried!

Amanda, Dawson, Evelyn, Frank, Abee, Ted, Jared, Morgan, Alan, Candy, Marilyn, Lynn, Dr. Mills. 13 perspectives in 292 pages. Instead of developing depth in each character, it did the opposite; I didn't care about any of them.

This text seemed like a mismatched manuscript where the author couldn't decided which voice to use. Dawson and Amanda were irritating, as they complained and whined about the unfairness of life.

Darn you Nicholas Sparks you did it again! Really great book, could put it down and per usual I cried at the end. Nicely done, it was a great read.

I didn't even finish this book. I just couldn't get into it and it was very predictable and depressing. i guess I'm just not one for romance novels...

Recipe for writing a Nicholas Sparks’ novel: Have a boy and girl fall in crazy, stupid, love. Come up with a reason why this love cannot be. Have the girl marry some guy that she sort of likes, because how dare a woman not marry and reproduce. Have the long-lost true love return. Have the girl cheat on her husband and then kill someone unexpectedly within the last three chapters. And apparently you've got yourself a bestseller. The End.
