A behind the scenes look at the making of Disney Channel's golden Era from the Mickey Mouse Club to Hannah Montana.

As a Disney girlie, I thoroughly enjoyed the read. Plenty details to keep me interested without completely destroying my childhood.

I enjoyed this book however for a non fiction I don’t feel like I gained much from it. Most of the content covered was things I already knew about and I don’t think this added much further.

Largely over written, and not a lot of new reporting is done. Some subjects are written to death and some are barely touched

I liked learning about all of the executives involved in shaping the 2000s Disney Channel business model, but if that’s not interesting to you, then maybe skip the book?? I learned a lot and have many fun facts to share now. Sometimes I felt like I was reading Disney Channel propaganda, especially when they talked about the work environments being vastly superior to Nickelodeon’s. But there was just enough content critiquing Disney that it’s not so clear-cut.

The ending was also kind of abrupt, and there isn’t a compelling overall point. I still enjoyed the reading experience.
