Everyone should read this.

This could have been an article. And it would have been a good article. The book can be drilled down to a few examples of active listening and validation-giving. These skills are essential. And perhaps it is worth an entire book. But I found the read repetitive. That said, the author gives good suggestions for being a better conversationalist and friend, especially in times of stress for your interlocutor.

This actually is a pretty helpful manual, thank you.

Good reminders throughout. Everyone should read.

I really liked how it was written and found it very easy to read. It's all about validating others and also goes over how it's important to validate your own emotions. Examples were enjoyable as well.

Thanks, Macayla for the recommendation/book loan. This was a really easy and practical read and will make you excited to be a better listener and thus a better friend or spouse or coworker or what have you. Time to put those phones away and practice some good ol’ fashioned listening and validation!

3.5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
Really short and easy-to-read book on the power of validating others (and yourself) in everyday conversations. Nothing wrong with it but just not a book I’d overwhelmingly recommend people to read. A nice reminder on how to connect (listen, hear, and understand) with others.
