Here's to smut with an actual plotline. Our FMC is trying to find the truth behind her sister's death. It's a quick read and not that much complexity in the storyline. You can see the shocking reveal a mile away but hey the ride was still quite entertaining (esp. in the smut department).
The beginning started out with more telling than showing which annoys me. Thankfully, the writing improved (also the smut lol).
Clocking in at under 300 pages you know it's going to be a cliffhanger, forcing you to read the second book.

Tessa moves to Oxford to figure out what happened to her sister. While she is there, she meets Saint, who is a wealthy professor. Tessa only knows bits of her sister’s story. As she grows closer to Saint, more discoveries are made, including her sister's research into secret societies. Both storyline's merge together in the last chapter, and it does end in a cliffhanger. I have no clue where Tessa will go from here, but I hope it is not back with her roommates.
This was one book I could not finished. I like dark romance. But not the kind that have hardcore sex and very sexual content about. This was not my cup of tea.
Well shit I started this on a whim and 4 hours later the sun is about to come up. This story is so my speed it don’t make no sense. So Tessa’s sister went through something horrible and took her own life. Tessa has now faked her way into her old school in England trying to find out what happened and is charmed by none other than a duke who also happens to be her professor. She had him eating out the palm of her hands!!! It’s nothing like a rich man wanting to change all his way for a woman who is not easily impressed by him. Let that man drop several bags just so you can breathe in his direction sissss.

I liked this! Dark academia, old money, secret societies! It was interesting for sure, not the best writing and the characters were somewhat flat, but the cliffhanger made want to start the next book
I was promised a sexy modern duke on the cover. It did not deliver.
Not saying it was good, just saying I had fun. Lol 3.5⭐️
Honestly just wasn’t feeling the teacher student vibe and the fact that the teacher became obsessed really quickly. Just wasn’t as into it.
