A quirky, British girl gets kidnapped to the fae realm to basically compete in a combination of Hunger Games-ish and the Bachelor. There might not be cameras but oh boy is everyone watching and fangirling.

Dhalia has been kidnapped ... a human who has been taken by a Fae Prince to the fae world. Only to have to compete with other women for his hand... weird right?! Well she has Gullie, a pixie, who helps her keep her head while there. Lots of adventure and intrigue as there have been some changes that makes you wonder about Dhalia's background. She was raised by three mothers and knows nothing about where she comes from. She also makes magical dresses! Book 2 here I come!

Dahlia is a simple seamstress for the Mages, the elite of London. Her life is nothing spectacular, living above the shop with her three "Mothers." Three mages who "adopted" her from a young age and raised her.

This changes when she bumps into a beautiful man on the streets after a dress delivery gone wrong. He whispers a word to her that she doesn’t understand and flees. She think's its the end of it until guards show up out of a shimmering portal and kidnap her, taking her to the Winter Court in the Fae realm.

Here she is deposited into a competition with fourteen Fae women. She is to compete in various challenges to win the ultimate prize.... Becoming General over the Winter Court army...

Oh... and the hand of the Prince in Marriage.

There is just one little problem. They all think she is fae, but she is just a lowly human, and she must keep it a secret out of fear of what they will do to her if they find out.

All I have to say is Wow. This book wasn’t really what I was expecting. I'll be honest I had the bare minimum information going into it. I didn’t realize there was going to be a competition involved. Think Hunger Games meets the bachelor. I went in thinking that it was a simple discovery of mates story, forced proximity maybe -- Boy was I wrong.

This book was interesting and filled with the common lore of the Fae Realm. There were some deviances which was nice. I love it when author’s take liberty with common lore and make it their own.

I do feel that the market is a bit over saturated with Fae stories, but this one did manage to stand out of the crowd for me.

It's book one of four and I have already downloaded book two!
