Super creative take on fae, humans, and mages! I feel like I know who Dahlia is, or at least what she is. It doesn't make sense for her to have absolutely no history. And with the way she's reacting at the Winter Court with the changes she's undergoing, I definitely believe she's fae. I have no idea how or why, but I think her history is super important. I'm looking forward to what's going to happen in the next book. Her resourcefulness is intriguing and entertaining! I love how she stands up to Cillian and to the other fae. She doesn't always know when to keep her mouth shut, but she's hilarious and strong willed. I'm curious to Cillians reaction to her. And wonder what his parents think. I'm also curious about the dead prince. Something is not right.

3.5 stars…

the synopsis sounds like something someone would come up with to poke fun at fantasy YA

I’m in.

Update:
I was right, and it was pretty enjoyable.

I just finished this book, and could NOT put it down! I instantly fell in love with the characters, and who doesn't love a sexy, handsome prince? The storyline is action-packed and original, with fun and whimsy galore! I'm absolutely loving this new fae series by Katerina Martinez, and cannot wait for the next book. A must read!

2.5* I picked this up on a complete whim while browsing Libby and seeing that it was marketed as The Bachelor so automatically I assumed this would be similar to The Selection series by Kiera Cass which I loved. However, this story was not it. While much didn’t happen I guess I just never got connected to the characters enough to feel fully immersed. I don’t think I will be continuing with the series.

4 star!

This book was really interesting, I loved characters so much, and the plot was quite good. The humour was heartwarming, and I felt quite invested in the story even though this was just a short book. The romance was okay...but I just felt like her and the Prince didn't really have enough scenes together. I didn't really mind that though because the MC and the side characters were keeping me entertained enough. I care enough about the MC to want to find out what will happen in the next books, she was a really good MC! :)
I wish we had a bit more character development for the Prince, however. We don't really know that much about him at this point, I want to see some more personality from him, not just his cold nature and grumpiness

Okay start

I liked Deliah's character and it was a nice start. But it wasn't an amazing start for me. I thought a couple of things talked about between characters, were repeated. (I don't want to state spoilers). And being thrust into this new world and this crazy competition, I don't know, I still thought it didn't have enough meat and build-up for me to stay interested. The grammar isn't perfect, but not a deal breaker. Just a few little things. Not a bad read, I finished it but didn't hook me.

I’m torn. I would put this around 3.5 stars. This story intrigues me but I feel like there’s something about the world building that feels lazy. It has hints of being a fantasy historical but there’s a lot of references to very modern activities, like reality TV. Also, the presumed male romantic lead doesn’t make me want to like him other than a physical reaction thing. He’s described as someone who bloodies a tool on the lives of servants if he didn’t sufficiently bloody the tool on the enemy. That is not the kind of man I want a heroine to end up liking. The story is still intriguing and I enjoyed it. For now, I will keep reading this series.
