Read it in one day. Very strong book EXCEPT for the twist regarding Kate's identity. How dumb! The book manages to be pretty realistic in all but that respect, and it bums me out that she ruined it with that ridiculous coincidence.

I am astonished this got a Netflix adaptation- it’s just as awful.
The characters dialogue is terrible, their motivations are so unbelievable and I am more disappointed I gave into the hype

Wife is more upset about her husband lying under oath than committing rape. Dumb.

For this it gets one star. Otherwise three stars.

Not a bad story but a bit overwrought with most of the characters being gendered stereotypes.

Sophie has it all, a loving husband James who works in government, two gorgeous children and a fabulous home. But her world comes crashing down when her husband is accused of a terrible crime which he strenuously denies.

Kate is a criminal barrister, highly experienced in prosecuting sexual crimes and who wants justice for her clients.

I wouldn't class this as a suspenseful thriller like some reviews I've seen. To me this is more a fast paced courtroom drama. Having said that I thought it was a brilliant and gripping one!

Anatomy of a Scandal is a story of class, privilege and misogyny, while looking at the justic system and its treatment of both the accused and the victim. While it was sensationalised for the purpose of a good storyline, the most captivating thing about this book was that I could imagine this is exactly how things are in government - from the attitudes of men in power to the cover ups, etc.

I'm undecided if the ending was quite what I'd hoped for but I did really enjoy the book as a whole!

This one was bumped to the top of my TBR as it's been adapted as a Netflix series and I wanted to read it before binging the show. I'm looking forward to getting started on the series tonight!
