This was a great read. Rebecca Yarros says so much with the way she writes, the subtle details and descriptions she sprinkles in her work are clearly an outlet for her and I loved catching those insights.

While this was predictable as far as plot was concerned, the emotional journey for the characters and the deeper meanings to the story made it an incredibly reflective read.

Oh, and yeah, I got choked up. Given my opinions on the US army, I DID NOT expect that to happen!
