This is why I love Nicholas Sparks! When you think romance by other writers, you think happy, everything red, basically something out of a movie. But when you read Nicholas Sparks, it feels so real, it's eerie and beautiful. People who have never loved can know how it really feels like when you read his books.

A beautiful story!

I bought this book 10 years ago and re-read it every now and then. It makes me cry every time even though I know what's going to happen.

I’ve seen bits and pieces of the movie before as a child when my mom would watch it. I think In this case the movie > the book tbh! You get a lot more emotion out of the movie and I feel like you get to know the characters better. BUT this book was written when and I like that the POV was of Landon essentially storytelling as he’s an older man. It’s a sweet and sad book. An easy read too !

A very short but sad novel. Quite honestly I liked the movie better, but this is definitely one of Sparks better novels.

way better than the movie.
