Wibbly wobbly timey wimey, to quote Doctor Who. Super fun read, super thinky. I was really concerned it would not all come together and explain itself, but it did and it was perfect.

Slower first half, I felt, but the second half was over in a blink.
I liked this book overall, but the pivotal decision by the main character was utterly void of any kind of character development. Basically, the MC makes a monumental decision without any rationalization, before or after, by either the author or MC. What about the MC's personality or life experiences led them to make such a decision? Who knows. What was their thinking leading up to or during the decision? Who knows. In fact, what thinking the MC does have leading up to the decision is that he'd never make that decision. And then he ends up doing it anyway, completely without justification or logic.

That being said, I enjoyed the book. But the above issue is impossible for me to get over.

i feel like this book could’ve been the best book i’ve ever read but didn’t give me what i needed for that to happen.

i love the shifting storylines but i felt that i never was given enough to really enjoy the plot. the last 50 or so pages had me wishing the entire book was just as interesting the whole time, and yet somehow still fell a little short of the mark. i wanted more of the characters, every single character could’ve been so much more.
