The original slow burn! I would have liked to have seen more about captain wentworth, he felt a little flat / one dimensional compared to other male love interests in Austen’s book.
Not my favourite Austen, but an enjoyable read once I got myself back into the swing of her writing style / being back into the descriptive classics.

Hm. Certainly not the best Jane Austen works. Captain Wentworth has no character. There could have been more of character development on his side - the ending was less rushed than Sense and Sensibilities, but also resolved relatively quickly. I sometimes miss direct dialogue immediately after the "love confession" scene.
“You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone for ever.”
