Loved this book! Perfect for Percy Jackson and Harry Potter fans. Rick Riordan's style comes out beautifully in slapstick humor and lovable yet mature & realistic characters. If you're not a Percy Jackson/Rick Riordan fan already, I guarantee you will be after reading this wonderful book and discovering the perfectly written world of Rick Riordan's take on Greek mythology:).
The Kane Chronicles don't need much of a review. They aren't going to go down in literary history, but all three were fun to read. There are mysteries to solve, good guys to cheer for, bad guys to beat, and plenty of drama along the way.
I'd say 5th graders and up would enjoy the series the most. There are a lot of characters, including many Egyptian God's with hard-to-remember names, that might frustrate younger readers.

3 hours 21 minutes - I enjoyed this book, very classic Rick Riordan story but no less fun to read. The characters are very likeable and the plot is engaging, but the subplot of Sadie's romance is at best unnecessary and at worst creepy. A love triangle between a 16 year old boy, a 5000 year old god and a 13 year old girl is something I definitely don't think should have been included, especially as it is never treated as anything but positive by any character, including adults/parental figures. This did detract from my enjoyment of the book. Aside from this, a good read.
Graphic: Adult/minor relationship
Moderate: Violence, Murder

Somewhat underwhelming. Some scenes did pull on my heartstrings. Some scenes were also glossed over. The ending was okayyyyyy. The final battle was meh. Lots of build up for not a whole lot of payoff. Just felt a wee bit rushed.
I do want more though

It was so good! I loved how they wraped up the series. All of the ends were tied up. I laughed. I cried. I laughed some more. Now all I need is for Rick Riordan to put some of the characters into some of his other books!! Especially Sadie and Walt <3
