3.5 This was a fairly predictable book, it seems as if every book in this trilogy kind of has the same plot line and the same issues/ideas. The characters grew more developed and I liked what happened with Walt and Zia, even though I saw it coming. It had lots of cute humour and it was very clean (and I would expect no less) Overall, I think I was just too old for this series, I probably would have enjoyed it more if I'd been just a couple of years younger.
The series was really entertaining, even though it took me a long time to read it. I'm really intrigued to read his other books.
This was quite an enjoyable conclusion to the trilogy and I do really like the foreshadowing for the crossover between the Kanes and Percy Jackson. I like how things all wrapped up nicely. The only thing I did not absolutely enjoy was the fact that no one died. There had been other sacrifices in the previous books, but I mean they were fighting a war and it seems that all the initiates made it, even the ankle biters? I really did not want to see anyone die, but they were fighting a war, casualties are too be expected. Nevertheless, I still really did enjoy it over all. The love triangle fixing kind of threw me for a loop but I guess we're just going to ignore that it's still there just only in two beings except for three? Can't wait to read the crossover :)
2/2.5
After finishing the entire Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus series' I was very eager to read other series' by Rick Riordan. My first choice was the Kane Chronicles. I went into this series expecting to be wowed and I was... just not in a good way. The first book, I enjoyed quite a lot but as it went on it got worse and worse. I'm not goint to trash about what I like and dislike about it and just finish by saying that I am so glad I'm finally done with this and can move onto Apollo and afterwards Magnus Chase.

Finally!
Can't believe I finished this after a little over 3 months of starting it. With this a just came to the conclusion that, majority of the time, I can't binge read a series or I'll get stuck. Doesn't matter how much I enjoy it, I need something new in the middle (either new or go back to another series). I started this book right after finishing the second one and I realized that it wasn't a smart decision.
But anyway, as always, there's nothing here that I don't like really. It was slow at times, but sometimes I can welcome those.
This will probably be my least favorite Rick Riordan series, just because of all the mythologies he has written about Egyptian is my least favorite. But even tho I know that it doesn't take away the fact that I still love it (and loved learning more about it) and I still love this trilogy and will definitely re-read it one day.
Next I'm gonna go read the Heroes of Olympus series, but right now I'm gonna pause for a while on the Rick Riordan book goodness (after reading the Survival Guide and the Brooklyn House Magician's Manual companion books). Hopefully I'll at least start the first book by the end of the year.
