i was like trying to justify a 2 star rating in my mind bc 1 feels mean but i literally didn’t read the epilogue of this because i straight up do not care. like the ending of this and the magic/supernatural shit literally makes no sense to me and i feel like that’s partially me but also it’s just like not explained well? i seriously don’t understand what happened in the ending and i would rather just not know than waste my time and going back to reread. only book in mg life i’ve considered DNFing as late as 89%.
Characters:
Blythe, Ames (), Onyx (), Wolf, and Judas ()
Subpar Synopsis:
Blythe, having newly arrived in the town of Ash Grove, notices her new residence is strangely fixated on all things strange and Halloween but she feels right at home. Having been on the run from her stepfather who has been stalking and threatening to kill her, she hasn't really allowed herself to live, instead moving from place to place every time he finds her. She ends up meeting with Ames when her psychiatrist isn't available for an emergency session and he takes her on. He encourages her to join in on the Hallow festival happening the entire month of October. Intrigued and looking to have a little fun before she is (as she believes) inevitably going to be caught and killed by her stalker stepfather, she decides to take him up on the recommendation, but it's clear as she arrives that things aren't exactly as they seem. When she gets closer to Ames and, consequently his friends Onyx and Wolf, she learns a lot more about the history of the town and its inhabitants. All of them feeling protective and enamored with her, they work together to keep her safe and remove any threats along the way.
Thoughts:
This was really fun. There's a few things I didn't love but most of it was great. I'm a Halloween junkie so it was fun to see a town that completely embraced it and I loved each person's role (). Excited to check out the next one and see where it goes from here.

What a ride!
I am sad to say this sat on my kindle for a while, and I deeply regret that. This was such a great book.
While there is some really great spice, this book is full of plot. Blythe is on the run and is constantly in fear and loneliness. Then she lands in Ashe Grove and everything changes. No longer alone, Blythe starts learning more about herself, the town and all of its secrets, and what’s chasing her.
There are so many twists and turns, the end being the biggest one of all. This book doesn’t really leave you on a cliffhanger but there’s definitely more to come, her relationships with the others need to grow, and still more mysteries to unveil.

so good
I can’t say enough amazing things about this! The lore, the themes, the love, the plot were perfect. Ames, Onyx, and Wolfgang, and the ever absent and elusive Judas are incredible. Blythe is one of the most badass FMC I have ever read and she is just starting to embrace who she is. The poly and bisexual themes are a needed light, especially in the LGBTQ+ community. The way to story flowed and kept you guessing and wanting more is perfect. The spice. Ma’am! I want to do dirty nasty things with all three of them, but there’s something about Ghost that I just can’t get enough of.

Picked this book up on a whim and I'm glad I did. I found it be an easy read, fun, and well-paced. Blythe, the plus-sized FMC, is a girl on the run from the demons in her past. She stumbles into Ash Grove, a mystical Halloween obsessed town that welcomes her into their secret world. Blythe battles her past, the truth about herself, and her attraction to three powerful men who are hell bent on hiding their identity and the truth about their town.
I loved the paranormal aspect of this novel, and the way each character was written. I ate Ghost up in a few days, and look forward to reading the next book in the series!

"First and foremost I want to thank my religious upbringing for failing at converting meso spectacularly that it spit me out on the other side heavenly beings and sanctuaries"
These being the words of the author totally explains why this book was written.
BECAUSE WHY IN THE SO EVER LOVING FUCK WOULD SOMEONE WRITE ABOUT BEING FUCKED BY A DEMON.

Absolutely loved this book. I am big in character development and world building. Turns out, into monster spice too! ☺️
Kat Blackthorne’s world building is beautiful. Ash Grove is Ana amazing and magical place that you just want to be in.
The characters are fleshed out just enough you want to know more. I was only hesitant to read because it’s the first of four books, but I couldn’t stay away from Blythe and Ghost, Dragon, and Devil.
