Fascinating (real) woman and story, the multiple timelines was not ideal for audiobook so I think I would have enjoyed it more in book form.

This was told in interweaving timelines. Each chapter is headed by the date and place it occurs. The timeline could be hard to get through at times. there are two pov's nThere was a lot of information, and the author did a really good job sticking to Nancy's autobiography. There were times when I thought it was too long, and it felt like it was never going to end. But I really did love the writing.

A bit of a slow slog, but a fascinating story both tender and brutal. Does get a bit bogged down in the level of detail (and what does an aristocratic face/nose look like). The back and forth timeline is employed well until the jumps back and forth become quick. The different points of view, while essential at the end of the book, seem pointless early on.

Both the saddest and most powerful love story. The fact this is based on a true story almost defies belief but, as painful as it was to learn about, it feels right and a privilege to now hold this story.
