Code Name Helen" has unequivocally earned a place among my all-time favorite reads, and it's the best book I've encountered in the past two years. What struck me most was the author's superior writing style. The narrative itself is captivating, weaving together several elements I i like: the high-stakes world of espionage, a wealth of researched history, genuinely funny moments, and a beautifully developed romance. Moreover, the author's descriptions of the French country and France in general are outstanding. And for those who love action, "Code Name Helen" delivers in spades – the gripping sequences had me on the edge of my seat. The book does switch back and forth in time but it is done masterfully and adds to the unfolding of this book. The author's notes at the end provided an extra layer of insight that solidified this book's place as a truly exceptional piece of storytelling. I wholeheartedly recommend "Code Name Helen"!

This was a fascinating tale about an amazing woman. Every time I stumble upon these stories of real women who made real impacts in the World Wars, I am pulled into their stories and amazed at the choices they made as they fought for what was right. This also has the sweetest romance. I love reading about married couples that are so obviously in love with each other. Henry’s courting of Nancy was swoony and I was not prepared for the ending. The audiobook was fantastic.
