-really enjoyed this book, this is set a few years after the first book, still has a few characters from the first book included in this book
-the banter between the characters was cute and flowed nicely, the transition from fake dating to real was perfect

Despite personal flaws being a big part of this book, it felt brushed off/rushed a lot plot wise. The spicy bits took away from any real storytelling moments. I did not hate it, but I am probably not going to remember it, much like the first in the series.

Eva meets her new neighbor when he dog charges after him, scaring him enough that he vocalizes how she needs to control her dog and should've had him on a leash if he's like that. Eva can't figure out why her dog would act that way but also thinks her new neighbor is a total jerk.
A few days later, they cross paths while they are out for a run. She apologizes for the way her dog reacted and he apologizes for his reaction as that's not his usual demeanor. They decide to start new and move on from there.
The two find they have common hobbies and likes so they spend more and more time together. Eva's awful ex-boyfriend keeps contacting her, even after blocking his contact information multiple times, so she finally says she's dating someone. While hanging out with Drake one day, she asks him to be her fake boyfriend so her ex will move on and leave her alone.
The two form a relationship but it's not without struggles. Cute story and golden retriever MMC.

Barn Burner is the second book in the Sinners on the Ice series, but it can be read as a standalone.
When Evangelina “Angie” and Drake meet, they do not get off on the right foot. He has just moved in next door, and Angie’s dog, Cooper, attacks him. Angie explains what happened and apologizes, and Drake apologizes as well. Then when Angie’s ex can’t seem to stay away, she realizes she needs a new boyfriend – or a fake one, at least – to scare him off, so she asks Drake to be her pretend boyfriend.
Angie and Drake were so good together. They had amazing chemistry, and they genuinely understood each other. They even bonded over watching shows (One Tree Hill) together! They were both dealing with a lot, but they really helped each other out.
Drake was in the NHL, and since he had just moved, he didn’t know many people, which made him feel lonely. But once he connected with Angie, he was so sweet and a total cinnamon roll, despite how he reacted when he first met Angie. He was kind, caring, and very supportive of Angie. And he was also a dirty talker.
This was such a cute fake dating hockey romance! It was a little slow at times, but overall, I enjoyed it. This was my first book by Anastasija White, and I look forward to reading more.

Eva has had a rough run with relationships and has a rocky past that her parents don’t know about. Her ex won’t leave her alone, so what would you do in that situation? A fake boyfriend obviously!!
Drake is a golden boy. And his relationship with his friends kids is soooo cute. He is definitely a golden boy and Eva is a little rougher around the edges. He is everything she doesn’t realize she needs.
I haven’t read sin bin but I will definitely go back and read it now that I’ve read barn burner!
