QOTD: Do you have a TikTok account?
My A: Yes! Now I have two. I made a BookTok this month and I’m already totally addicted.
.
I came across this book on my FYP (for you page) on TikTok one of my first nights scrolling. The author made a video sharing scene from the book and I was instantly intrigued. I happily snagged this off KU and then spent the rest of the night reading! I’ll be honest, I've never really been into the band trope, but this book sucked me iin immediately. At little under 300 pages this was a quick read with the perfect blend of angt, steam and growth. The relationship between Avry, her brother and her mother is something I think a lot of readers will be able to relate to and I loved watching Avery finally grow a backbone and stand up for herself. Your heart will break a little as more and more of her story unravels, but it's so worth it.
.
If you’re a fan of any of the following, this one’s for you!

Brother’s Best Friend
Opposites Attract

Blurb:
Since that haunting accident years ago, Avery Fox has always followed her head and not her heart. With good grades, a future career in medicine, and a boyfriend ready to take the next step, it seems like she has everything she could ever want. But soon, the facade of her flawless life fades, and she questions every decision she’s made. With nowhere else to turn, Avery is forced to move in with her brother and his bandmates of A Quiet Peril—the band they started in high school that is now touring across the nation and selling out everywhere they go.
.
Following her head is a lot easier said than done before Liam Lockwood enters her life again. Because when deep-rooted anger and hatred for her brother’s best friend turn to growing affection and burning desire, she wants nothing more than to follow her heart. But there’s a reason she’s always made the controlled choice, and when her heart takes the lead, the secret of what really caused that accident all those years ago is revealed, threatening to shatter her life to pieces.
And there’s only one person who can put her back together.

I have to say I really enjoyed this book. It has a good message, It talks about having struggles and that you can always bring yourself out of it. The story does gloss over mental illness but it does it in a respectful way. I have to say how the main male character helps the leading female character and tells her she can do what she wants and to live her life for herself and not others is just so eye opening. It definitely is a book that you can relate to and enjoy in one sitting cause it isn't a book that can be put down easily. There's everyday problems and family issues and families coming together and just good relationships and healing relationship and just a love that comes from hate/misunderstandings but just explosive when they get their stuff together and figure out they are good for each other.
Blurb about the book:
Avery Fox is a woman that people who don't know well enough think her life is so easy and that she is spoiled. But really she isn't living for herself she just goes along with what other's have planned for her. She got into a really bad accident with her father a long while ago, and he dies in the end and she just can't deal as good as she would like. Losing her dad has torn her family apart, her mother tosses her brother Danny away and rules her life to try to get it the way she wants to be successful and not like her other child. It puts stress on the relationship between Danny and Avery. But Danny comes and helps her when she splits from her boyfriend and needs a place to stay. That brings in his band members who live with him and that includes lead singer Liam Lockwood that doesn't like her because he thinks she took her parents away from Danny and that's why they treated him differently and her like the golden child. Over time he gets to see it differently and he gets taken by her and he falls for her.
It definitely is a must read, a really good book about people thinking bad about someone and thinking things that aren't true and that they shouldn't judge what they don't understand. A book about understanding and growing from mistakes and about falling in love, there's a lot of steamy scenes between characters and just a really good book with good characters and good storyline that you won't want to put down. I can't wait to see if their are gonna be more to this book and this series.

Brother’s best friend trope. I liked the other aspects/topics of the book that didn’t have to do with the romantic relationship of Avery and Liam but where important to the characters storyline. It was an easy and quick read that I enjoyed.
