My book of the year 2024. Hard to fault it. Captivating read that I never wanted to end.
Barbara Kingsolver has a way with words that regularly gave me pause. Can't wait for more from her.

about a kid raised in rural Virginia (Appalacian mountains) during opiod epidemic; very sad/depressing, enjoyed all of book except the part where he was addicted to drugs

Wow, what a breathtaking book. I was worried this would be the latest victim of overhyped novels which seriously disappoint but the truth could not be further. This is going to stay with me for a very long time and I am now a huuuuge Barbara Kingsolver fan and will be reading everything she’s ever written, what a force
