The ML is unspeakably horrible to the FL from the prologue through to at least halfway and yet never seems to have any awareness of how much he hurt her. Another reviewer said "poor character development" and that seems very fair

This was a fun read and the characters were all very nice, but it lacked oomph; it felt like the author abandoned the dramatic, left-at-the-altar plot pretty quickly in favor of a rather cozy mystery investigation. The hero and heroine were both pleasant but wildly forgettable; the assortment of secondary characters was what really made this book palatable, cliched though many of them were.

I really wanted to hit these two over the head, but yes yes I totally get it, still one should think they would understand that the other person liked them back. Alas no.

Abby ran away 10 years ago (and I totally get why). Now she is back to give him a second chance. And she is confident (at times), stronger and her own woman.

Graeme spent the last 10 years alone, and not that he cared. He never wanted a wife in the first place.

Ok so yes their marriage started on such bad terms. He likes someone else. Her father blackmailed him and orchestrated the whole thing. Can you blame either of them?

And he is certainly no perfect gentleman! Shame on your Sir!

They have a lot work through. There is distrust on both sides and even when they enjoy spending time together they have second thoughts. Idiots! You clearly enjoy it!

But that is not all! There is danger and secrets to unravel too. I did guess it in the end, yes! I got one thing right for once.

Narrator.
His range was not the best. Of course I could still enjoy it, but I wished he had not forgotten her accent.

Miscommunication is my least favorite way to add drama to a story. And it didn’t just happen once it happened multiple times. That and the fact that I didn’t care for either one of the MCs makes this book 1 star...

I was torn between 4 and 5 stars.
For one side (Greame) it deserved 4 stars, but for the other (Abby) it deserved 5, so I'm going to stick with my girl and rate 5 stars for her

This book felt twice as long as it needed to be. Started off strong and began to fizzle out as the main characters began hashing over the same things again and again. I found the dialogue to be very modern towards the end of the book which was distracting.

3-3.5 stars

Well! Let's just say this had so many of my favourite tropes in one book!!! Did it work? Kinda...it kind of did and it kind of didn't.

I loved their characters and their dynamic at the start. I also liked how strong Abigail and how she stuck to her guns. I also liked Graeme's hesitancy and then later yearning for such a wonderful woman.

ANGST.

This book had angst in spades. I have this thing called phantom heartbreak syndrome or PHS where I legit feel pains in my chest when I come across a heartbreaking situation and I..well..I revel in it. I felt PHS many times in this book and their growth as a couple was just pure awesome sauce.

Why only 3-3.5 stars? That's easy. This book was too neat. The conflict was tied up in a nice bow and even their relationship was too perfect by the end and for me that was not at all how it should have gone. For a couple who was separated for 10 years and hated each other for the whole duration of that time and then fell in love soon after reuniting was kind of a hard pill to swallow. It didn't make sense and I just didn't buy it. I also didn't buy the "villain."

I wanted more but I was thoroughly impressed by this author.

Didn’t like this one as much as the other.
