This was an uncomfortable read for sure. The killers POV is told from 2nd perspective and creates this very chilling and eerie atmosphere with the reader.

This is the kind of book that will absolutely stick with me. I loved the writing and the way the story jumps between Ansel’s hours before his execution with the lives of the women around him. There is some great commentary on how victims are portrayed in comparison to their killers when it comes to true crime. The way Ansel also desperately clings to his theory as a way to set himself apart from other killers and give himself an inflated sense of importance ends up having the opposite effect, instead portraying him as a pathetic and insignificant. There were so many passages that will stick with me, especially the ending, and I am so glad I picked this up
