A young woman tends to the house of a professor whose short term memory lasts no more than 80 minutes, about the length of time required to read this book.

The characters, their relationships and even the story are almost elegantly simple, leaving great room for the reader to project one's own thoughts to fill the void.

The story is heartfelt as each of the characters, fighting their own demons, have found a peaceful harmony in one another's lives.

An easy read that likely has much more to be drawn from it then I was able to, reading the majority of it hurriedly and uncomfortably in a hospital bed!

as someone who hated math throughout my entire schooling years, this book has completely changed the way i view it. my heart hurts in a bittersweet way. what a beautiful reminder to cherish each and tiny moment of our lives. this book was even better than i expected. probably one of my all time faves now. i love the vagueness of the professor’s story, but somehow i feel like i know him through melancholy; the kind that can never be explained enough by words. i love every bit of this book, every nook and cranny and the tiny details that built this wonderful story as if i lived in it.
