This is the second series I read by Callie Rose. Her books are on the adult side of the adult genre. I liked it, but I thought and continue to think that the sex in her books can sometimes be too frequent and almost cause you to lose sight of the story.
This was also the first polyamorous/reverse harem book that I read that wasn't set in the fantasy/paranormal genre.
The relationship here is unhealthy and should not be modeled. It was obsessive and stalker-y. I did like how the author worked in a disability. We could use more of that. I definitely can't recommend people emulate this relationship. But despite my complaints, I was really intrigued by this one.

Read all three books.
I liked the twisted story,
I really liked the burning fire between Markus and Ayla
I liked everything about Markus and Ayla
But:
I just didn’t felt the connection between Ayla and the other two guys.. it felt like just Markus would be more than enough. The beginning was so hot but it got lost because of the other guys.
I didn’t really enjoyed the amputee thing, don’t know why.
I don’t like whole ending with kids

Unlikable characters, no plot, just bad sex scenes and no chemistry nor romance. Bordering on romanticising abusive possessiveness.
2.5
it wasn’t bad, i just found myself not connecting with any of the characters i just didn’t really care about what was happening.
i thought marcus would have a good explanation for his actions but it was just ‘i wanted to get to know you’ and was just anticlimactic.

So, just like the last time I read a series by Callie Hart, I have completely devoured book one. I was hooked from the beginning and drawn into this world of mystery and secrets.
Ayla saved Marcus two and a half years prior to when this book takes place. Little does she know Marcus, Theo and Ryland have been keeping a close eye on her since that night of events. She is now working at a bar and various other jobs as a temp to make ends meet. Because of the events that happened to her, she's come out stronger and doesn't let anyone talk down to her.
Marcus is obsessed with Ayla and Theo and Ryland have also been watching her on Marcus' orders. They have a bond and a brotherhood that runs deep. Ryland is still standoffish towards Ayla, but he doesn't sugarcoat things for her and she is slowly breaking him out of his shell.
I really love the plot of this book. I haven't read anything like it before and it has gripped me. I am diving straight into book two!
