As a dark-romance morally-grey reverse-harem seeker I LOVED this, there was perfect balance between smut and plot, the plot was great and very clearly wasn’t just filler for the smut. It does have a HEA and an epilogue (gold-standard ford any romance, especially ones like this!)
If you’re looking for a “feel good” dark reverse harem with morally grey characters and a story that you can’t put down and still think about after you finish THIS IS IT!

Dark and spicy
Dark and spicy. Got me out of a book hangover. Some things were predictable and could have done for more questions to be answered.

This was a good book, but it just wasn’t what I was looking for at the moment. It was a little to slow burn for me.

OH.MY.GOD.
This book was...everything. Callie honestly NEVER disappoints me I have fallen in love with each and every one of her books but I think this one may be the one I’m utterly obsessed with!
Ayla is hands down one of the most resilient FMC I have ever had the wonderful chances of reading. She’s been through some traumatic events in her life, and she never let it break her! Even when she wanted to give up she didn’t, she rose above and it made her so so strong and really a character to look up to!
Even with the high amounts of testosterone around her (aka Marcus, Ryland, and Theo) she always remained true to herself and stood strong!
Speaking of those three...hot alpha men. I am completely and equally obsessed with each of them! They each bring something equally important to the table and the chemistry between them and Ayla is truly something to behold.
All in all the book was amazing and I wouldn’t and couldn’t changes thing! I’ve had a book hangover since!

So, just like the last time I read a series by Callie Hart, I have completely devoured book one. I was hooked from the beginning and drawn into this world of mystery and secrets.
Ayla saved Marcus two and a half years prior to when this book takes place. Little does she know Marcus, Theo and Ryland have been keeping a close eye on her since that night of events. She is now working at a bar and various other jobs as a temp to make ends meet. Because of the events that happened to her, she's come out stronger and doesn't let anyone talk down to her.
Marcus is obsessed with Ayla and Theo and Ryland have also been watching her on Marcus' orders. They have a bond and a brotherhood that runs deep. Ryland is still standoffish towards Ayla, but he doesn't sugarcoat things for her and she is slowly breaking him out of his shell.
I really love the plot of this book. I haven't read anything like it before and it has gripped me. I am diving straight into book two!

This book's sole redeeming factor was the battle royale bit at the end but unfortunately it was too little too late. Ayla finds out she's being stalked and immediately sleeps with one of them...and continues to let them run her life because after two days of knowing them and speaking to them a total of three times, they're now "putting her back together." But I guess this is to be expected, since instead of having flashback dreams of what actually happened when she took three bullets for them and they ran away, she has sexual dreams where they screw her as she bleeds out. That's a level of messed I don't want to touch again.
Oh also I guess there's something to say for actually creating an alpha character who is possessive in a way that actually worships the FMC, instead of just being an asshole. That was different in a positive way.
