Hot Damn
Ayla is one strong ass FMC. I absolutely love her. For everything she’s gone through she’s persevered and come out stronger.
Her three guardian angels (stalkers lol) Theo, Ryland, and Marcus have kept watch over her ever since that faithful night.
Lurking in the shadows, hiding behind bushes (lol) until she needs them.
Everything changed in the span of one night and it changed again.
Amazing. Absolutely amazing. I loved every second. And I hope the ending isn’t real but we shall see.

This was exactly what I was looking for and I loved it for what it was: An easy to read, suspenseful series with a heavy focus on the romance and an intriguing (if light) plot.
Enemies-to-Lovers with mafia vibes. Honestly more romance than plot, but the plot that is there is interesting and provides a lot of opportunities for the love interests to get overly protective over the main character while still leaving her room to become stronger and more independent.
It won't give you an in depth story but it is absolutely a good time and I've gone back and re-read the series.

As far as books based on a male's absolute obsession with his the female protagonist at least this one was more than a scent (usually in paranormal romance) or just insta-love. Likely, if she hadn't saved his life he would have carried on in her life and not thought about her except perhaps in a missed connection sort of way. But seeing her almost die for him with no reason what-so-ever for it that he could ascertain but that she had a good soul, his obsession was born. Normally books like this give me the creeps. Men lurking in shadows waiting for the woman to fall into peril so they can swoop in and white knight her to safety? Pass. But some how the addition of two other men, one who hates everything about their mission to protect her and the other with crazy golden retriever energy, kind of balances it out perfectly. Inevitably they all admit they are obsessed with her to some degree, but the varying personalities make it more concise and enjoyable.
Ayla is the first female protagonist that I have read about who had a disability to the extend of an amputated limb. Usually the females I read about have internal scars, not external. But damn is she a warrior. She refuses to give into social pressure to wear her prosthetic if she is able to function better without it. She doesn't hide her scars, she embraces them, even placing tattoos on her amputated arm to make something she sees as unpleasant to look at beautiful. She entered her connection with Marcus and his men with a healthy dose of resistance and weariness which only made me love her more.
The author did a good job of making sure each of the men were different so they could stand out as their own characters while also maintaining that trio feel to them. I am always a sucker for a broody bastard so Ryland is by far my favorite of the three. He also tried to resist Ayla the most projecting a hateful aura towards her which poorly masked how he truly felt.
I think that the first part of the series was stellar. It had an air of mystery in it which the games get mixed into the romance between the four. Sweet Obsession tackles dark pasts, selfless acts, danger, and love in a beautiful and unique way.

Okay, this is my first review to have less than 4/3 stars, so I'm not sure how to go about it, but I'll try to be as open minded as I can. This is not a bad book, however the cons outweighed the pros for me. I was really enjoying it, until the end, to the point where I don't think I will be continuing with the series. The storyline was promising, and the exposure for amputees and the struggles was amazing. I really applaud Rose for that. However, the s*x scenes were good in practicality but not in theory. It seemed as if the act was always a product of an argument, or tension yet it was described as an act of love in the way that the MC felt. There was nothing romantic in it, from my POV. Also, the plot was very empty up until the end, and I was struggling to see the point of the book. The author threw the bone a little bit with the mystery of the lost brother, but that was about it. Just a mystery. Without spoiling it, the scene that didn't sit right with me most of all, was the scene where MC has a panic attack, and is laid on the bed with Marcus, Theo and Ryland surrounding her. The way she deals with her trauma by re-enacting her dreams seemed completely inappropriate and way out of my comfort zone, and I've read some very questionable mature adult books, also with reverse harem.
Safe to say, the writing style was wonderful, and the story was promising, but personally it just didn't do it for me. No offense or hate directed to the author, it just was not my cup of tea.

⭐️⭐️✨
I really enjoyed the disability rep in this (the fmc has a limb difference and ptsd) and I thought this was well done. I have a soft spot for romances with an obsessed mmc so I’m glad this delivered, but it wasn’t the best one I’ve ever read.
The fmc annoyed me cause she’s super independent, to the point where even though she was objectively super poor she turned down their money just out of spite.
Her sex dreams about the night she got shot just confused me and felt super unnecessary.
Also the whole thing that the men were involved with towards the end was super stupid.

Listened to this as an audio book & it took everything in me to actually focus on what was being said. I only listened to this on my drive back & forth from my house to my dorm so mayb that is it - but to me, this book lacked plot & had way to much smut.
Great read.
Wow, what an amazing read. I really enjoyed this book, great plot and characters plus a pacey, twisty storyline, can't wait for the rest of the series.
