i love me a bad boy so of course i like marcus but i’m not being facetious when i tell you i cannot even remember the female lead’s name in this book. the characters are super two dimensional & are the kind of sad characters that have kept me away from romance novels for the last 15 years of being a reader. idk how is this like 200 plus pages and homegirl has no friends, no family, no hobbies, no college. she works per time at a bar and suddenly 3 men are obsessed & follow her every movement? puh lease.
That Cliffhanger!
This was a pretty good start a series that I definitely feel like I’ll be binge reading. It starts out with action, and definitely leaves us hanging on some action.
Our FMC is a bit prickly and bitter. It can definitely get frustrating at times, but that just adds to the angst. It’s not always a bad thing when the MCs have you wanting to pull your hair out.
I do wish this was multi POV because I desperately want inside the minds of her guys Marcus, Ryland, and Theo. But either way, I’m always a sucker for the protective stalkers.
The spice is good. Not really any kink, but they are slightly intense.

The fact that she had flashbacks of the night she was shot and was panicking, and wanted to have sex(she ended up having sex with one of them) so she would calm down while the others were in the room and watched. What? And the fact that she dreamed of the night she was shot, but mixed it up with sex dream every fucking night is ridiculous. The whole scene threw me off guard and i don’t know if i want to continue reading this… something
I was in need of a fast paced and action-packed book and this delivered! As my very first Callie Rose book, I was pleasantly surprised by the types of characters she wrote about with complex pasts and troubled presents, as well as the deeper plot that this book set up. I’m eager to jump into book two and discover more about Ayla and her three stalkers.
Where to start? Ok first, thank you BookTok for introducing me to this amazing author.

This book made me feel things I didn’t know were possible. And that cliff hanger, ugh. Ayla is so strong and I love Marcus, Theo and Ryland. The Chemistry with Marcus and Ayla is immaculate and the tension with Theo and Ayla is something to keep an eye on.
The spice in this book is amazing as well! Definitely recommend!
Now I have to read the next one immediately to see what happens!

This is one of those times I grabbed a book from both just the cover and blurb alone. I was NOT disappointed, in fact I wish I could have crawled into the book and joined Marcus and Ryland. The book is a bit dark, after all it's a Mob boss who starts a game between families of kill or be killed. There's a lot of twists, turns and things I didn't see coming. It's beautifully written and I'm starting to understand why it has so many 5 star reviews!
Loved this. It's dark and messy. But great fun!
